End-vertices of LBFS of (AT-free) bigraphs

چکیده
Lexicographic Breadth First Search (LBFS) is one of fundamental graph search algorithms that has numerous applications, including recognition of graph classes, computation of graph parameters, and detection of certain graph structures. The well-known result on the end-vertices of LBFS of chordal graphs has tempted researchers to study the end-vertices of LBFS of various classes of graphs, including chordal graphs, split graphs, interval graphs, and asteroidal triple-free (AT-free) graphs. In this paper we study the end-vertices of LBFS of bipartite graphs. We show that deciding whether a vertex of a bipartite graph is the end-vertex of an LBFS is an NP-complete problem. In contrast we characterize the end-vertices of LBFS of AT-free bipartite graphs. Our characterization implies that the problem of deciding whether a vertex of an AT-free bipartite graph is the end-vertex of an LBFS is solvable in polynomial time.

New characterizations of proper interval bigraphs
A proper interval bigraph is a bigraph where to each vertex we can assign a closed interval such that the intervals can be chosen to be inclusion free and vertices in the opposite partite sets are adjacent when the corresponding intervals intersect. In this paper, we introduce the notion of astral triple of edges and along the lines of characterization of interval graphs via the absence of aste...
متن کاملPermutation bigraphs and interval containments
A bipartite graph with partite sets X and Y is a permutation bigraph if there are two linear orderings of its vertices so that xy is an edge for x ∈ X and y ∈ Y if and only if x appears later than y in the first ordering and earlier than y in the second ordering. We characterize permutation bigraphs in terms of representations using intervals. We determine which permutation bigraphs are interva...

Extended Abstract 1 Preliminaries. Following the spectral graph theory, a graph coloring technique and algebraic methods in graph theory (see [5], [13]), we continue a Coxeter spectral study the category Bigrn of connected non-negative loop-free edge-bipartite (signed) graphs ∆, with n ≥ 1 vertices (bigraphs, in short), and their morsifications introduced by the second named author in [22]-[25]...
متن کاملInfluence of the tie-break rule on the end-vertex problem
End-vertices of a given graph search may have some nice properties (as for example it is well known that the last vertex of Lexicographic Breadth First Search (LBFS) in a chordal graph is simplicial, see [16]). Therefore it is interesting to consider if these vertices can be recognized in polynomial time or not, as first studied in [6]. A graph search is a mechanism for systematically visiting ...
متن کاملPaired-Domination Game Played in Graphs
In this paper, we continue the study of the domination game in graphs introduced by Bre{v{s}}ar, Klav{v{z}}ar, and Rall. We study the paired-domination version of the domination game which adds a matching dimension to the game. This game is played on a graph $G$ by two players, named Dominator and Pairer. They alternately take turns choosing vertices of $G$ such that each vertex chosen by Domin...
